Colored Pants

I enjoy the fashions of the fall and winter seasons but the colors are so boring. Brighten up your look with colored pants!! Below is an example of how I incorporated a summer/spring color into a fall/winter look.

       Sweater: H&M
             Pants: H&M
           Shoes: Posh

I'm not a fan of pairing items that match each other perfectly (like my shoes and sweater do) so to break up this "matchy matchy business" I threw on a pair of grass green skinny jeans. To brighten up your outfit when wearing  dark colors like blacks, browns and navy blues I suggest  wearing pants that are really bold shades (NO NEONS) of peach, red or green.

Color blocking

Color blocking is the technique of combining a few bold colors to create one look. Like everything in fashion, it is a trend that comes and goes. For the past two years, fashion giants such a Gucci , Marc Jacobs, Tommy Hilfiger and many more, have added color blocking to their runway collections and I LOVE IT!! Below are a few picture of me color blocking.

The Hermes Birkin

Left to right: Lady Gaga, Nene Leaks, Victoria Beckham, Evelyn Lozada, Fitria Yusuf

The Birkin bag by french designer Hermes is the holy grail of all purses. The starting price of the Birkin is $10,000.00. No I didn't make a mistake with the comma or decimal, that's right ten thousand dollars! Depending on the material or customization they can be as expensive as 150,000.00. But whats all the hype about? After all it doesn't do anything special like take the dog for a walk or prepare a meal . At best you can resell it on ebay and hope to break even. Lol. Over the years the Birkin has simply become a status symbol. It represents a certain level of wealth and success.Think about the kind of financial freedom one must have to own a purse worth well over 10,000.00 or a collection of purses costing as much as a house or luxury vehicle. Its rumored that Victoria Beckham has a 2 million dollar Birkin collection. (I wonder if she gets Spice girl royalties ... hmm).

The Birkin is very attractive but ladies, do we really have to dish out thousands of dollars to look this fabulous? As my Jamaican grandmother would say "No, YUH MAD?" Lol. Of course we don't! After a little searching I found many designer bags inspired by the Birkin. Check them out!!

Hermes: Birkin est $20,000.00

Prada: Saffaino $619.00

Michael Kors: Hamilton $398.00

Cole Haan: Kendra $228.00
Judith Ripka: Manhattan $105.00
Whitney Jannee :)
And me rocking my Birkin inspired bag I found on ebay for $40.00 !!! What do you ladies think about the Hermes Birkin?

The Sneaker Wedge

The sneaker wedge has been popping up all over the place. All the celebs have been seen rocking them from Beyonce to reality star Emily B! These would seem perfect for a girl like me (who never wears sneakers but likes to be comfy) however I don't own a pair and I'm not sure how I feel about them yet lol. I did a little searching and apparently they are very popular. Both affordable and luxury designers are offering their own versions of the sneaker wedge! Check them out & tell me what you ladies think!!
