Lets call this one: Two Years after baby

If we're friends on Facebook, Instagram or gosh dare I say it; real life [shocker], then you're probably well aware that I have a beautiful daughter. But unlike most of my Instagram pictures or Facebook post this blog post isn't about her. [Take a deep breath. Ready?] This is all  about me. Yes Moms its okay for something to actually be all about you. [You can exhale now.] [No seriously, you can breathe.] After being pregnant and preparing for baby then delivery and actually raising said baby you become lost. Like I have completely become lost in this world of mommy-hood and although I love it ,I don't really know who I am anymore. When I think back to my past [Or scroll back 300 weeks on my Instagram] I see this young, fun loving, party going, fashionista. Now, I don't want to be that girl anymore but that girl had an identity. I have completely absorbed myself into my child and my relationship so much that the concept of them equates to me. In a sense, they define me. Now this is good to some extent but like everything in life, there needs to be moderation. Where I went wrong was that I believed that by continuing to love the things that I used to love like; shopping, more shopping, critiquing movies [I actually wanted to start a movie review blog], hanging out with my friends, [I miss you so much Aria, Jess, Vanessa, Reme & Aisa] and blogging; that by continuing to do these things that I was being selfish. By being selfish I would have essentially been a bad mother/girlfriend. But that's not true for me nor is it true for any you. You can still be yourself and do the things you love. You can be selfish sometimes!!Obviously you have to cut back but you don't have to abandon yourself and the things you love completely. Being a Mom, being a good Mom is truly a balancing act. Its all about weighing risks, benefits, feelings, time and money. Too often we put our wants and needs aside in the name of making our child or partner happy. But ssssssshhhhh.... [I have a secret to tell you] Happy Mommy = Happy Everyone.
